Come celebrate Easter with the 1ST EASTER EGG SCRAMBLE 5K RUN on Saturday, March 30, 2013. The start/finish will be in The Historic Village of East Davenport, Iowa, where you will run through Scenic Parks that overlook the The Mighty Mississippi River.

Early registration is until January 1 (cost $32)
Standard registration is January 1 to March 28 (cost $36)

• NEW DATE!! Due to weather. Sunday, May 05, 2013:

Celebrate the creative lives of John & Isabel Bloom with the Village in Bloom Festival of the Arts.

The Festival will feature the fine art and performance art of area school children.

A call for entries is available for art teachers and directors for the following fine art and performance art categories:

• Art classes are invited to exhibit nature sculptures that reflect the regionalist movement that Isabel and John represented.

Students will be asked to sculpt backyard animals primarily using locally available recycled materials.

• Performance groups are invited to showcase their talents as singers, instrumentalists, puppeteers, dancers and actors.

Performance venues will include an outdoor stage, indoor theater, corner park, and the historic East Village Fire Station.

In addition to the students' performance and fine arts exhibits, the festival will feature exhibits of Isabel and John Bloom's art, children's art-making classes and many other activities.

Raising Dollars and a Glass to Gilda's Club of the Quad Cities!

This event is a fundraiser for Gilda's Club of the QCA. A $5.00 or more donation would be greatly appreciated. Wrist bands are required.

• Saturday, August xx, 2013: 3 p.m. to 6 p.m.

Gilda's Club volunteers will be manning two tents on 11th Street. Start there to receive a wrist band and a map of participating businesses with a $5.00 donation to Gilda's Club. All participating businesses will offer a 1 oz sample of their featured wine. Please "Go Green" and bring your own wine glass. You will still get just a sample but we will eliminate a huge amount of plastic tasting cup trash. Sip, shop, and enjoy. Sip, sip, hurray for Gilda's Club
